DIGITAL DESIGN NOTES

Over this semester you will undertake a series of projects that will introduce Rhinoceros 3D. We will use this tool to craft a series of projects that will become increasingly more difficult as the semester moves forward. But before we get started I wanted to remind you all of a few things about working this semester.

  • Working digitally means working iteratively. Be open to starting over.

  • This class will encourage you to explore, experiment, and develop a personal method of working.

  •  If you have questions ask. If I don’t know, which may happen, I will do my best to figure it out.

  • Be resourceful. Youtube, forums, and other digital resources are available for your to use. I will show you some that I use frequently, but many exist.

Lastly, the use of Rhino is only the tip of the digital modeling universe. We will be looking closely at this program and not exploring its many plugins, rendering engines, and peripherals. If you would like to know more about some that I use don’t hesitate to contact me.
